We have failed to hear the call. Software engineers all around the globe are starting to miss the point. Job hoping from one place to another, we are failing to understand what is driving us insane or unhappy. We, the software engineering community, need to stop and think. We have shaped our careers in a way that has kept us in a comfort zone for too long, and the ones to first suffer this will be ourselves. We need to start reminding ourselves of those important topics that are outside the comfort zone.Let me show you what senior developers like yourself have forgotten. Maybe, you never even realized how important some of these ideas are. This is not a book about technical prowess, but a book about our ideas and our philosophy. Step out of the figurative dark place you are working on 9 to 5 and stop feeling like your role has less and less meaning everyday. The world continues changing around you, but you have done your best to stay as still as possible. Maybe you don't have the 10 years of experience you mention in your resume. You just have 1 year of experience 10 times. It's also time to remember change is inevitable.Whether you are a developer (of any seniority, not just seniors), a manager, a scrum master, a coach, or what have you, this book should do well in reminding you of many important ideas that should help you better shape your objectives and the way you conceive your own role in this world.Do not forget that I have warned you.
