It is the author's belief that many tragedies and much pain could have been avoided, if more people have better awareness of risks and have sufficient preparations for the adverse events that are upcoming sooner or later, in one form or another. This book is divided into two parts, which would hopefully could assist people in making mental preparations and thinking along the lines of risk management. The first part, "Outline of Risk Management", intends to present an overview of risk management with a common framework applicable to both organizations and individuals. The second part (approximately last 3/4) of this book consists of glossary of key concepts of relevance to risks and risk management sorted alphabetically, and is intended for readers to self-explore on as-needed basis. This book highlights the importance of testing and simulation as a critical component of risk identification and assessment methodology in the era of COVID-19 pandemic and Boeing 737 Max disasters, which may offer new perspectives for risk management professionals. For everybody else, the book may still be useful, as a brief introduction to risk management literature, and as a stepping stone for accessing the vast Wikidata and Wikipedia resources on risks and do-it-yourself (DIY) risk management via easy web links from the book itself.
