Wherever I roam I always ask, “What is the best thing about working here?”No matter what industry, what coast or what age, the answer always is, “The people I work with.”Now I must admit, later in the discussion I always ask, “What is the most frustrating thing about working here?” And the answer is always, “The people I work with.”Why?Teams, businesses, families… all are made up of people. When two or more are gathered, there is interaction. Humans are on a journey of engagement. Leading proper engagement can be challenging. What type of engagement do we quest?Becoming a part of a Pack!We are social people. We have the need to Pack! We must belong to something bigger and more important than just daily tasks. We need to matter to someone else or lots of someones.As a seasoned leadership coach, I found myself going to school on the topic of creating and leading cultures when our oldest son entered the world of high school football.
